Hunger Banquet on September 27

This event will be an immersive and interactive Hunger Banquet where participants will experience the effects and impact of food insecurity in Lee County. At this event, participants will receive a dinner based on a socioeconomic status and will engage with fellow participants as a family unit over shared meal and conversation.

There will be 150 participants. 16 will be in the upper class, 32 in middle class, and the rest will be in the lower class. The remaining 102 will be placed in the lower class.

During this event, there will be three social classes: Low, Middle, and Upper. Each class will receive a meal based on their standing.

Upper – Plated formal dinner with utensils. Tea and Water in glasses on table.
Middle – Large cheese pizza in eight slices – plastic plate. Water bottles and sodas in cans
Low – small bowl of white rice in paper bowls with plastic spoons. Water station.
