Town of Dayton recently issued the following announcement.
VDOT contractors have begun work on Main Street, starting from Eberly (northern end). As a reminder, they will be milling and paving at least 4 days on Main Street, but will curtail work early on Friday for the holiday weekend and resume work next Tuesday (weather permitting). After Main Street is complete, they will move to Huffman between Main Street and Rt. 42.
Please follow detours and drive with caution.
Dingledine and College are open for access to downtown businesses once they get to that section of road (most likely Thursday & Friday). Please do not park on road in the section on which they are working. Vehicles will be towed if they are in the way of the work to be done. They will not be repaving the area that was completed last year as part of the Mill Street project.
Thank you for your patience as VDOT improves our roads.
VDOT contractors will be paving Main Street beginning Tuesday, April 12 – weather permitting. It is expected to take 4 good weather working days.
