CCH Employee Certified in Infection Control

Campbell County Health recently issued the following announcement.

Kim Lindeman, Infection Preventionist at Campbell County Health, (CCH0) recently became certified in Infection Control, (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).

The CIC® credential identifies healthcare professionals who have shown mastery in knowledge of infection prevention and control by sitting for and passing the certification exam. The CIC® credential shows a commitment to best practices in infection prevention and control.

The CIC® examination is the standardized measure of the basic knowledge, skills and abilities expected of professionals working in the field of infection prevention and control.

Applicants must have:

  1. Completed post-secondary education in a health-related field including but not limited to medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, or biology. 
  2. Direct responsibility of the infection prevention and control programs/activities in a healthcare setting.
  3. Defined work experience in infection prevention.
Kim has been employed by CCH since 2019. In her role as CCH Infection Preventionist, Kim is responsible for surveillance, reporting and data analysis of infections in the healthcare setting; hand hygiene and PPE; infection prevention policies and staff education, audits and pandemic response activities.

“The CIC certification represents a huge commitment of time and effort,” said Sherry Bailey, Director of Acute Care Services at CCH. “It means that our organization has someone with the most up-to-date knowledge about infection prevention, something that is essential in our current healthcare environment. CCH congratulates Kim on this accomplishment.
