Thanks for working here this week: Britt Princen, RN

Meet Britt Princen, registered nurse in the Emergency department. Britt is a newcomer to CCH, having worked here only six months.

“I would say that healthcare is a career path that chose me,” said Britt. “I didn’t always know that I wanted to be a nurse or work in the healthcare field. I applied for nursing school without any expectations or idea of nursing. I fell in love with the opportunity to care for members in my community. I cannot imagine a more rewarding career.”

While in nursing school, Britt cared for individuals with disabilities at a company called Be the Change, working with adults and children with autism for three years.

Britt’s healthcare hero is fellow nurse Patricia Heald. Trish oriented Britt to the Medical Surgical unit when she first came to CCH.

“She embodies everything it means to be a nurse,” said Britt. “Trish has been an important factor in my success at CCH and I am thankful she is a member of our team.”

To Britt, Excellence Every Day means that the patients at CCH deserve the best version of their healthcare team every day. It means that the patients leave CCH knowing that the healthcare team did everything possible to improve their health. She takes pride in getting to know her patients beyond just their diagnosis.

When she’s not working, Britt likes to go camping with her family. She is a movie series fanatic and looks forward to going to the movie theaters with some popcorn. You can also find her walking her Corgi named Peanut or enjoying some Mexican food.

Thank you, Britt, for taking great care of our patients every day at Campbell County Health. We appreciate all that you do.
