Congresswoman Harriet Hageman has called upon the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to address a significant increase in unidentified drone activity near sensitive military sites and across the United States, including reports from Wyoming. Hageman emphasized the need for transparency and accountability from federal agencies regarding these sightings.

The situation echoes an earlier incident involving a Chinese Communist Party high-altitude surveillance balloon that traveled across the continental United States, including Wyoming, before any action was taken by the government. This delay in response raised concerns about public confidence in the government's ability to protect national airspace.

Expressing her concerns, Congresswoman Hageman stated, “The increase in drone activity across the U.S. is alarming. The Biden administration failed to act when we had a Chinese Communist Party spy balloon cross our nation, and they are failing to act now. Either they don’t know what these drones are, or they’re deliberately keeping their origins from the American people. Both possibilities are deeply concerning. Regardless, the federal government owes us an explanation. Transparency and accountability are not optional when it comes to the safety of our airspace and national security. I am pushing the FAA to deliver the answers the American people deserve.”

Hageman also mentioned similar drone activities reported by her constituents in Wyoming, urging immediate answers and action due to sightings near military and critical infrastructure despite federal agencies downplaying potential threats.

In recent weeks, numerous unidentified aerial system sightings have been reported across Eastern states such as New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Virginia. These drones reportedly do not match known commercial technology in size or design. The lack of a clear response from federal authorities has intensified national security concerns.

Hageman's inquiry seeks clarity on several issues: total sighting numbers, drone origins, and how federal authorities plan to safeguard American airspace against possible threats.
