Key Dates
- Oct. 17: Ballots begin to be mailed to all active, registered Boulder County voters (non-overseas voters). 24-hour ballot drop boxes open.
- Oct. 24: Vote Centers open for in-person voting. Ballot-to-Go (curbside ballot pick-up) service begins.

Registering to Vote
Colorado does not have a registration deadline for voting. Eligible voters can register and vote up to and including Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.
In order to register, you must:
- Be 18 years of age by election day
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Have resided in Colorado 22 days prior to the election.
- Have an acceptable form of ID.
You can confirm your registration status at www.GoVoteColorado.gov.
If you just registered and want to pick up a ballot, or need a replacement ballot, you can use Boulder County’s “Ballot-to-Go” service, available starting Oct. 24 through 6 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 8. You can also register at an in-person Vote Center.
Ways to Vote
There are several ways you can vote:
- Complete and mail your ballot.
- All ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day (Nov. 8). We recommend mailing your ballot by Oct. 31 to make this deadline.
- Drop your ballot off at a 24-hour ballot drop box starting Oct. 17.

- Vote in-person at a Vote Center, starting Oct. 24.

- If voting in-person on Nov. 8 (Election Day), you must be in line before 7 p.m.
Note on where you can vote
Colorado voters can vote anywhere in Colorado. However, if you are voting in a county outside of the county you are registered in, you will have to vote an “Official Statewide Ballot” which will only have statewide questions, governor, and senate race.
RTD Zero Fare Days
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) will have zero fare days for bus service on National Vote Early Day, Friday, Oct. 28, and Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, to encourage voter participation in the election.

A Quick Glance at What’s on the Ballot
The Nov. 8 Special election includes federal, state and local measures. Boulder voters specifically will be asked to consider:
- Two ballot issues (measures related to TABOR) involving a potential Climate Tax
- Four ballot questions related to:
- Repealing library commission and tax
- Amending rules so that City Council candidates can only run for one office at an election
- Changing Regular Municipal Elections to even years
- Repealing the annexation of CU South
