Thanks for working here this week: Angie Laakso, MOTR/L, Occupational Therapist

Angie

Campbell County Health recently issued the following announcement.

Meet Angie Laakso, MOTR/L, Occupational Therapist at Rehabilitation Services. Angie has worked at Campbell County Health for 15 years, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Development from Montana State University, and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Dakota.

Angie’s inspiration for pursuing a career in healthcare was her aunt, who suffered from a spinal cord injury. Angie herself was hospitalized for 3 ½ months in 2013 at a hospital in Colorado. This experience significantly changed how she treats her patients, and her overall outlook on life.

Angie considers everyone who works in healthcare to be a healthcare hero, saying “This has been the most difficult couple of years, and everyone deserves a pat on the back”.

She praises her coworkers for the incredible teamwork she has seen over the past two years, saying, “Even though I only work PRN (on-call), I always feel like we are all in this together.  I've seen employees jump in and help from other departments to clean rooms, and answer phones, as well as patient care.  I feel so fortunate to be a part of the healthcare team at Campbell County Health”.

She says that the Rehab Services staff is always grateful when she can fill in when someone is sick or the patient census is high, always greeting her with a smile, answering her questions and keeping her informed of changes in the department.

For Angie, Excellence Every Day means showing up for her patients every day with compassion, care and grace; and spending time with them and getting to know their families and loved ones.

When she’s not working, Angie enjoys spending time with her husband Steve, and children Jackson and Lauren. She watches her kids play sports, loves to travel and spend time at the family’s cabin along with dogs Sky and Louie.

Thank you, Angie, for taking great care of your patients every day at Campbell County Health. We appreciate all that you do.
