Campbell County Health and the Walk-In Clinic team are celebrating 10 years. The Campbell County Health Walk-in Clinic relocated on-site to Campbell County Memorial Hospital on January 14, 2013. Ten years later, the clinic has seen roughly 260,000 or over a quarter million visits. Open year-round, the Walk-in Clinic provides fast and convenient service for patients with serious but not life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Urgent care facilities like the Walk-in Clinic streamline the patient experience and help cut down on wait times for emergency department patients.

“Over the past ten years, we’ve been able to help over a quarter million people who needed immediate access to care but weren’t necessarily ill enough to warrant an ED visit,” said CCH Walk-in Clinic Manager Brenda Heim. “Our location right next door to the ED is perfect; we can make sure the patient gets the level of care they need and make sure the process is expedited.”

The Walk-in Clinic is perfect when someone is ill or has a minor injury and can’t get a same-day appointment with their primary care physician. Many of the 260,000 visits would have been unnecessarily shifted to the emergency department without the Walk-in Clinic - or many of the visits may never have happened at all. Access to healthcare is a key issue for Campbell County and the Walk-in Clinic is one way in which CCH strives to address that issue.

Campbell County Health is grateful to those who have entrusted the Walk-in Clinic with their well-being over the past 10 years. The staff and providers of the Walk-in Clinic embody Excellence Every Day and play a critical part in pushing CCH to become the first choice for healthcare in Wyoming.
