On November 1, 2024, Congresswoman Harriet Hageman announced her support for a House Resolution condemning remarks made by President Biden. The comments in question referred to supporters of former President Trump as "garbage."

Representative Hageman expressed her views on the matter, stating, “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are no longer hiding their disdain for more than half the country. Sadly, these are not ‘just words’ – they reflect their contempt for the citizens of this country, while confirming that their willingness to pursue incredibly harmful policies over the last 4 years is due to their dislike for millions of Americans."

Hageman cited several examples she believes illustrate these harmful policies. These include "weaponizing the government to silence those with differing views from sharing their voice on social media, attending church services, or speaking out during school board meetings," and actions such as "erasing America’s borders to import well over 12,000,000 illegals" while providing them with resources that some American citizens cannot afford. She also accused the administration of contributing to a crime wave in cities and pushing Americans towards unemployment through regulatory measures affecting industries like mining and oil & gas production.

The statement concluded with an assertion that when "name calling doesn’t suffice," the administration resorts to economic measures impacting key sectors.
