Washington, DC - As the deadline for public comment on the Bureau of Land Management's Rock Springs Resource Management Plan (RMP) approaches, Rep. Hageman has raised concerns about the proposed plan, calling it a "disastrous" land grab that will have severe consequences for various industries and economic development in the state.
In a statement, Rep. Hageman expressed her worries about the impact of the Bureau of Land Management's preferred plan, stating, "The public comment period for the Rock Springs RMP closes tomorrow, January 17. The Bureau of Land Management's preferred plan is one of the largest land grabs that we have ever seen and will block ranching, energy production, mining, recreation, and any other economic development on nearly 2 million acres of land in our state. It is impossible to overestimate the level of harm this will cause to our communities."
Rep. Hageman also expressed hope that the overwhelming sentiment against the plan would deter the federal bureaucrats from proceeding with it. She urged the public to review the draft RMP and share their concerns by submitting a public comment. She stated, "Take a moment to review the draft RMP and share your concerns by submitting a public comment via this link."
Highlighting her commitment to fighting against the plan in Congress, Rep. Hageman invited the public to join her in making their voices heard. She stated, "I will continue to fight in Congress against this senseless, disastrous plan, and hope that you will join me by making your voice heard as well."
